Dr. Lynne Adams

Dr. Lynne Adams has decades of experience providing innovative and strategic human resources and organizational developments initiatives to higher education, business, government, and non-profit organizations.   Over the span of her career she has developed a path based upon her passion and commitment to improving organizational culture, strategy, team cohesiveness, and leadership skills within organizations.  She has developed and implemented large-scale organizational initiatives that have had a significant impact propelling organizations to maximize the competencies of their talents.

 

Lynne began her academic career working at the University of Illinois @ Chicago (UIC) as Director of HRD.  In her career journey she has been intentional with staying connected to the work of Higher Education serving at Technical College System of Georgia and most recently at Prince George’s Community College as the Vice President of Equity, Culture and Talent/CHRO.  She joined UMBC as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) in 2022.

 

Lynne earned a Ph.D. at Capella University in the school of business in General Business focusing on organizational behavior & management, a M.Ed. at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in Instructional Technology & Design, and a Bachelor of Sciences at Oakland University in Human Resources Development (with a minor in Labor Relations) in Rochester Michigan.  She was honored to serve as the president of the Maryland chapter of the College and University Professional Association-HR (CUPA-HR) and on the Eastern Region Board for CUPA-HR respectively.

 

Forever an instructor, Dr. Adams has served as a part-time faculty for several colleges and universities graduate programs teaching courses in organizational behavior, human resources, strategy, change and leadership.  Currently, she is serving as part-time faculty for a doctoral program in Community College Leadership for a university.
